RYMAN LEAGUE Division One North club, Canvey Island, have announced the signing of six new players at Park Lane.

Sam Collins, David Knight, Albert Levett, Teddy Nesbitt, James Walker and Luke Wilson have all linked up with Danny Heale’s men, while the Gulls have retained a number of their squad from last season.

Midfielder Collins joins from neighbours Concord Rangers, while potent striker Knight served Bowers & Pitsea well, scoring 17 goals in 31 appearances last season.

23-year-old midfielder Levett re-joins the club after spending the previous four years playing in the USA and former Southend United defender Nesbitt brings a wealth of experience, including spells at Great Wakering Rovers, East Thurrock United and AFC Hornchurch.

Like Nesbitt, striker Walker is a former Southend United man. Most recently he served East Thurrock United but also represented a whole host of other Football League clubs including Hartlepool United, Bristol Rovers, Leyton Orient, Notts County, Yeovil Town and Gillingham, as well as winning international recognition with Antigua & Bermuda.

Commanding central defender Wilson is another former Bowers man, making 125 appearances for the Len Salmon Stadium club during a three-year spell.

Meanwhile, Canvey’s retained list is currently as follows;

Marlon Agyakwa

Ryan Blackman

Ashley Dumas

Mitchell Gilbey

Conor Gough
